The core thesis
AI revenues, valuations, financing capacity, procurement budgets, and public-infrastructure costs are concentrating in a loop — recycling through a small set of infrastructure, finance, model, workflow, and public-sector intermediaries. The same names keep showing up on every side.
The loop, at a glance

The money goes in a circle.

Follow one dollar around the ring. Investors and chipmakers fund the labs; the labs spend it right back on those same chips and clouds; the profit and soaring valuations land on the same few balance sheets — which fund the next lap. Click any stage to filter every chart below to it.

1 Investors — and the chipmakers themselves — fund the labs.
How to read itThe outer ring is the money's path — it flows one direction, all the way around. The ⇄ arcs across the middle are the round-trip deals: a chipmaker, cloud, or investor on both ends, so the dollar loops straight back to them (that's why the arrows point both ways). Each numbered arc matches a deal on the right.

This is a map of recurring relationship patterns — not a literal accounting trace of one dollar through bank accounts. And it doesn't stop at company balance sheets: the same buildout pushes into power planning, utility tariffs, water, tax incentives and public procurement.

Quoted criticism · one expert's words, not this dashboard's legal finding “Circular deals” in the AI industry — with accounting that, the expert said, earlier eras would have called “borderline fraudulent.” Eric Ries, startup-governance expert, to The New Yorker (Farrow & Marantz), 2026  reported  Read the reporting →
What's crazy about this?

The same names keep changing costume.

A normal company raises money, buys infrastructure, sells a product, and waits for revenue to come back. The AI build-out is stranger: the same dollar can pass through several balance sheets that are already tied together. A lab raises strategic capital, then spends it right back on chips, cloud, power and distribution — and the suppliers' revenue, rising valuations and now-financeable contracts help fund the next lap. Across the stack, one small group plays investor, supplier, customer, landlord, lender and government vendor at the same time.

Supplier becomes investorA chip or cloud supplier also finances the customer that buys its infrastructure — so the sale and the funding sit on the same desk.
Contract becomes collateralGPU fleets, cloud commitments and data-center leases are increasingly treated like financeable assets — debt gets raised against the promise to buy compute.
Public systems get pulled inUtilities, regulators, government procurement, ratepayers, water systems and defense channels all become part of the buildout's cost base.
Workflow becomes captureOnce the models sit inside legal, coding, enterprise, government, browser and search tools, distribution turns into a control layer.

To be clear: this doesn't mean any deal is fake, or that one company secretly owns another. The claim is narrower and documentable — a small set of clouds, chipmakers, labs, financiers, data-center owners, government channels and workflow platforms repeatedly show up on multiple sides of the same system. The numbers below are not one audited spending total: they blend investments, contracts, cloud commitments, debt, financing, valuations, capex, procurement ceilings and power capacity. Use the filters to separate confirmed from reported, planned, alleged, or watchlist.

Method: records deduped by ID & source URL. The amount shown is tagged-dollar scale — a blend of valuations, multi-year commitments, debt, capex, contracts and ceilings, not cash that changed hands and not a figure you can simply add up. Power capacity (GW) and user counts are tracked separately, never folded into the dollar total. Watchlist / quarantined / litigation-only records are hidden unless toggled on above.
